Out of Control Immigration

My two children, 19 and 20, have grown up listening to politics. Their grandmother, my mother, would pick them up from school when they were in grade school and they would listen to Hannity on the way home. Good news for us: our candidate Bob Riley won handily.Today they ask lots of questions of me because the mainstream media…See More

DO YOU KNOW?

DO YOU KNOW?A year ago I was anxiously watching the campaigns of both presidential candidates. Wary of both I went from side to side, listening intently to the pundits, the speeches and all the politicians on both sides of the aisle.Today, I don’t believe John McCain would be a better president than President Obama but then I don’t think he would be worse either.I’ve learned listening solely to the media will give you a very one-sided view regardless of what they claim. Partisanship is rampant…See More

WHAT DESCRIBES YOU...

WHAT DESCRIBES YOU?In the beginning of our country we were Americans separated by England - Loyalists and Patriots; by religion - Puritans and Quakers; then by war – Yankees and Rebels; then by immigration – Irish and Italian; next by color – black and white; and culture - African, Asian, Hispanic, Muslim, and politics – Democrat and Republican and now by descriptions. No longer are we simply Americans. Words meant to be derogatory are on the lips and fingers of everyone while their true meaning…See More

The South Under Attack

I've been monitoring different blogs; Huffington Post and The Daily Beast just to name two, this weekend. I was pretty surprised at the nasty comments regarding the South. The liberal left is doing it's best to make the South racist and redneck and demonizing Christian views. The thing is, though, when questioned, these people refuse to answer. They are full of rhetoric and hatred and are willing to listen to anyone else's opinion - the very same things they accuse "republicans" of. If you are… Continue

Racism in America

What has happened to the racism in America? It's turned around and maybe some people would say that's good. It's time for the white people to feel what discrimination feels like. The sad thing is most of the people who promote racism were not born during the segration days; they are younger than I am by far. The Montgomery Bus Boycott was in 1956 - 53 years ago. The Baby Boomer's were against racism and segregation was on it's very last legs in the 1970's. Did it all go away? No, there were… Continue
